The allocator’s job is simple: put USDC where risk-adjusted Morpho yield is best, without stranding liquidity or concentrating the book too far. It never chases raw top APY alone. If yield conflicts with liquidity or safety, yield loses.

Two layers

  1. The book - how much of product NAV sits in each Morpho sleeve, on Ethereum, and on each collateral. Those limits live on Hard rules and are live-checked on Transparency.
  2. Inside a sleeve — on diversified vaults, which Morpho markets receive weight under the same safety fences.
Diversified sleeves (Frontier, Blue-Chip, cbAssets) run this market-level ranking.
Mono sleeves (WHYPE, aHYPER) do not — their universe is fixed; ongoing ops are Sentinel only.

The 10% liquidity rule

A Murmurr position must stay at or below 10% of a market’s available exit liquidity. That is how the book stays leaveable. If other suppliers withdraw first, we can still get out in full. The allocator will not size a market above that share. The Sentinel re-checks the live book and trims anything that drifts over the line. This is a public fence, not a hidden knob. Operating buffers and poll cadence stay in internal policy.

What “good allocation” means

In order of priority:
  1. Stay liquid enough for LP redemptions (cash buffer + Morpho exit capacity).
  2. Stay diversified — no single market or thin pool should dominate the book.
  3. Prefer higher-quality collaterals when yields are similar.
  4. Maximize expected Morpho yield on the investable universe — after the fences above.
The vault claim stays USDC. Buffer restore should not depend on discretionary swaps of the user’s underlying.

How ranking feels (without the recipe)

Inside a diversified sleeve, markets are scored for yield and quality, then filled under hard fences:
  • Markets that fail a quality floor are simply not investable.
  • Among investable names, better quality still ranks ahead at similar yield.
  • A position must not take more than 10% of a market’s exit liquidity.
  • Single-name and vault caps keep concentration in check.
  • When a market is overheating (very high utilization), the allocator will not add more — and the Sentinel may pull capital out.
Exact formulas, cooldowns, and provider wiring stay in internal ops policy. Publicly, the promise is the fence set — not the knob settings.

Portfolio shape (conceptual)

Hard numbers for sleeve weights, Ethereum share, and per-collateral caps: Hard rules.

What the allocator does not do

  • It does not promise a fixed APY.
  • It does not take LP keys or custody shares.
  • It does not freely swap user underlying out of USDC for “yield tourism”.
  • It does not ignore exit liquidity.
  • It does not maximize raw APY while ignoring collateral quality.
  • It does not replace the Sentinel under stress — emergency exits can run ahead of strategic rotations.

Multichain

When the best risk-adjusted USDC Morpho book sits on another supported chain, capital can move there as native USDC via Circle CCTP — see Multichain & CCTP.
